How to Get High Volume Search Keywords. If you want to build comprehensive topic keywords, there is no proper way to do keyword research.
Not that there isn't a possible way (no budget/time, etc).
For this example, let's create a simple content plan around the keyword engraving Jepara that I don't know anything about.
First, see if there is a wiki page https://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukiran_Jepara
Run the wiki page through Ahrefs and review the keyword rankings.
Look for keywords that you can make into separate articles.
We want to find keyword answer questions that have a large volume and little competition (so you have a chance to compete).
If you're on a tight budget and don't have the Ahrefs tools, you can do the same with the Keywords Everywhere add-on:
- Do a site: search on Google for your URL
- Click on Total keywords
- Repeat the process
Now copy the wiki page URL and run it through MissingTopics.
This is a great FREE tool for finding the most important topics and keywords.
https://missingtopics.com/topics
You will now have a list of (you guessed it) the missing keywords:
- Copy those keywords
- Choose the appropriate keyword or topic (remove numbers, brackets, etc.)
- Use a keyword in Ahrefs explorer
Don't forget, to make sure you review the topic/keyword before copying it to Ahrefs.
Now go to Ahrefs keyword explorer and paste the missing topic/keyword to check. Then apply this filter:
- select matching terms
- choose question
- Set the minimum volume to 20 (free according to taste)
Just check the keywords that appear with the golden keyword method using dork allintitle to see the level of competition from those keywords.
The good thing about this method is that you can find keywords you didn't know existed (because you didn't know the niche).
This method is powerful enough to find high-volume keywords whose niche we don't know at all.
Will this be the most comprehensive way of searching for keywords? Not.
But it's a starting point and not bad considering I know nothing about niches.
This process took about 5 minutes, and I found a good amount of keywords to create content for.
When you're blogging in a niche you don't know about, that's where this wiki method can help. So in answer to the original question:
Does Wikipedia give you enough data to create a topic cluster (for a niche you don't know about)? Yes, but you still need to use your SEO skills.
